Moving Average and VWAP
A moving average smooths price by averaging it over a set period. Intraday traders also watch VWAP (volume-weighted average price), the average price paid by everyone who traded that day, weighted by volume. When price is below VWAP, buyers who bought today are on average losing money, so rallies toward VWAP often meet selling.
Moving Average and VWAP in my real trades
Oct 29, 2026 (Thu) | Rejected at VWAP: repeated M tops
Buyers kept trying to push higher, but every touch of VWAP was rejected — someone was defending that level. Several failed tops in a row made the resistance clear.
